Update: Did the radio bit. Man, news radio is fast. In and out in under 5 minutes, but we fit in quite a bit of material. Hopefully it wasn’t confusing to anybody listening in the greater D.C. area.

Got a copy of The Black Death: A Personal History by John Hatcher, which I will be reviewing for PopMatters.

Lots of stuff going on at the moment. Tomorrow (7/8) at 2:20pm, I am scheduled to speak on WTOP Radio (103.5 FM) in the Washington D.C. area, about my recent Forbes.com article on getting web video content onto your HDTV. The article also got a nice link in the daily roundup over at Mediabistro (at the very bottom).

I’ve also received Nico Muhly’s Mothertongue, which will be released at the end of the month on Brassland. I’m digging it so far, really daring modern classical with an accessible pop-bent, think Bjork or Philip Glass.

Movie Review:
Inception

The new ALARM Magazine website is live, and it looks awesome. Stay tuned for my features on Matmos and Liars.

Toby Lester, author of The Fourth Part of the World, writes about America’s naming in the Globe.

FEED Magazine, which I credit as an inspiration, closed in 2001. They just put their archives back online.

Manute Bol invented the phrase “My Bad.” Or not?
