Subtle Ambience - My review of Kiln's Dusker is now available at ALARM. It's a generally positive review. If you're interested in subtle, textured soundscapes and Kraut-inspired chill-out music in the vein of Landing (intricate, hypnotic), this is definitely up your alley.

Ultimately, Dusker is an apt name for this album. At first glance it's dim and ambiguous but closer inspection reveals the finer details, the shades and hues which reward the observant. It won't spark any massive popular response, but it'll attract a small, devoted set of relaxed followers as it intends.

It's a great time to be a film critic. Not so great to be a film fan.
