HDTVs You Can Give or Hide Away at Forbes.com

My third article for Forbes.com, on the virtues and value of small or mid-sized televisions as opposed to their more overbearing, oversized peers, was published today. I touch on ten models that would fit well in a small apartment or dorm room, or would be good if you just don't want a gigantic television dominating your home. Personally, I lean toward the high-end. I used to think I'd be comfortable with a 42-inch display, but after doing a lot of Best Buy walkthroughs researching for these articles, I have to admit the 50"+ sets are more and more appealing.

My next article will be on affordable digital cameras, and will almost certainly feature the Canon PowerShot A720ISA720 IS. I had an opportunity to do a hands-on review, and was very impressed with the performance; very powerful for a point-and-shoot that's geared toward casual users. Plus, it's under $200.

Can't say I like the new Stop & Shop logo. At least the old one was related to stopping and shopping.

Wired profiles Neal Stephenson. Loved the Baroque Cycle, but it had one flaw on the hardcover spine: the second and third books use a long s, but the first volume doesn't. Looking forward to Anathem.

Movie Review:
Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I can't believe the Goliath Cranes that lorded over Quincy are being dismantled and shipped to Romania.

I always loved the AMG take on Jon Spencer: "…inspired showman or mendacious con man (frankly, he's both)."
