Nothing Is Precious Enough For Us | Death Vessel

In ALARM Magazine issue 33, you’ll find my review of Death Vessel’s Nothing Is Precious Enough For Us, which bears a passing similarity to the Jeff Hanson disc I reviewed a while back.

Both Hanson and Death Vessel’s Joel Thibodeau have startlingly feminine voices, and while that links them to some degree, I feel that they use their vocals very differently. This, to me, is the stronger of the two albums, as Thibodeau possesses a level of dynamics and nuance in his voice that I don’t think Hanson can match, at least not on Madam Owl.

The Seinfeld episode where Jerry and George have an awkward night out with Elaine’s writer father is based on a real-life event where Larry David was forced to entertain his girlfriend’s father—Richard Yates.
